Seplat Energy Plc, Nigeria’s leading independent energy company, successfully held its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 14, 2025 virtually.

It was learnt that the meeting, attended by Board members and key stakeholders, showcased the company’s stellar performance and brilliant corporate accomplishments in 2024 said to be driven by strategic acquisitions, robust financials, and a shared commitment to shareholders value.

The 12th AGM Meeting was presided over by Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the board Chairman of Seplat Energy with Mr Roger Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy present. Also in attendance at the AGM were Mrs Eleanor Adaralegbe, Seplat’s Chief Financial Officer; Mrs Edith Onwuchekwa, Seplat’s Director Legal and Company Secretary; Mr Samson Ezugworie, Chief Operating Officer of Seplat Energy; and Mrs Bashirat Odunewu, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Seplat Energy.

During the meeting, shareholders reportedly approved the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended December 31, 2024, with a 100% vote in favour.

It was also learnt that shareholders endorsed a final dividend as recommended by the Board of Directors.The AGM also reportedly resolved to increase the company’s Issued Share Capital and to amend its Memart to reflect its new share capital.

Recall that Seplat Energy recently completed the transformational acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU).

According to reports, the acquisition has doubled Seplat Energy’s production and positively increased the company’s reserves.
