The Lagos State Government has lauched investigations into the unethical filming of a late reality TV star, Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, allegedly by medical practitioners suspected to be nurses in the hospital.

The Lagos state commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso made this known on Friday.

The Commissioner revealed that the state government had already commenced an investigation of the incident.

He said, “That hospital is not a government hospital. We have started an investigation into the unprofessional conducts of those who appeared in that video.”

The New Diplomat reports that shortly after the demise of Rico Swavey, on Thursday a video clip showing the final moments of the former Big Brother Naija housemate at Doren Specialist Hospital in Ajah, Lagos, surfaced online.

In the viral video, the nurses were seen attempting to carry him on a bed when one of them brought out a phone and started recording him. Another nurse was heard cautioning her colleague against the act.

“You people should stop making the video; somebody is dying, you people are making video,” the nurse said.

Since the video made it to the Internet, many have condemned the medical practitioners, while others had argued that the individual filming Rico’s final moments might not necessarily be a nurse as widely held.
