The House of Representatives on Wednesday called for the sack of the Minister of Defence and National Security Adviser as they lamented the worsening security situation in the country.

A member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, Bello Kumo who made the call, blamed the president for the widespread insecurity in the country by refusing to sack both security heads.

The deputy speaker accused the security agencies of complicity, citing an instance where a soldier was arrested for supplying uniforms to bandits.

The house of representatives had recently resolved to investigate the attack on a train in Kaduna state.

The lawmakers also said it will investigate the recent attack at Kaduna airport which resulted in the death of a security guard.

The decision of the green chamber followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Nnaji Nnolim, a lawmaker from Enugu state.

However, to investigate the matter, the lawmakers invited Babagana Monguno, national security adviser (NSA); Bashir Magashi, minister of defence; Isiaka Amao, chief of air staff; Yusuf Bichi, director-general, Department of State Service (DSS); Alkali Baba, inspector-general of police (IGP); Hadi Sirika, minister of aviation and Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation.
