The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, have both arrived in Nigeria in the early hours of Friday, eliciting reactions from the public.

The couple safely touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, through a British Airways flight.The New Diplomat reports that this is the first time Prince Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria together. The visit came on the invitation of the Country’s Defence Headquarters.During their stay in Nigeria, Prince Harry and Meghan are expected to meet with wounded soldiers and their families, as a show of support to improve the soldiers’ morale and wellbeing.

Also, the couple will attend basketball and volleyball matches and will meet with local non-governmental organizations in Abuja and Lagos that are receiving support from them. Meghan will also co-host an event on women in leadership with the Director General of the World Trade Organization, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
This has attracted mixed reactions from the populace. While some praise the visit, others are simply indifferent, stressing that the visit has no impact on the social and economic lives of the people of Nigeria.
