The Nigeria Police Force has refuted reports that its personnel were at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) earlier today to seal off the place.
This is contained in a press release by DCP Frank MBA, the force  Public Relations Officer today.Nigeria Police Force
According to Mba, the armed police officers were deployed to the secretariat “as a proactive move by the force to maintain peace and ensure there is no breakdown of law and order.”
He further stressed that the move  by the Nigerian Police Force was to forestall an unpleasant occurrence within and around the secretariat.
He said, “The presence of the police personnel at the Secretariat is not to seal-up the complex as has been reported in some quarters but rather to prevent any untoward situation within and around the APC National Secretariat.”
Mba added that the members of the APC as well as staff of the secretariat are free to carry on with their legitimate businesses as usual in and around the premises of the secretariat.
“Members of the APC as well as staff of the secretariat are therefore at liberty to conduct their legitimate businesses, in and around the secretariat as always.” Mba said.
