The G20 is an inter-governmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU). It works to address major issues related to the global economy, such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, and sustainable development.
Among issues on the agenda at the G20 meeting are climate change and COVID-19 vaccines.
Before the commencement of the G20, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) had lamented the inequity in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, saying that G20 countries have received 15 times more COVID-19 vaccine doses per capita than countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
