Following the release of the autopsy report of late popular gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has said it transferred the case file of the late lead singer to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

According to reports, her case has been transferred by the police to the DPP office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami for legal advice.

Osinachi died on April 8 of alleged domestic violence, with her husband, Peter, arrested after the younger brother of the late singer reported the matter to the police.

The case was transferred from the Lugbe Police Division to the State Criminal Investigation Department the following day.

On  the 15th of April, newsmen reported that the National Hospital said the autopsy report would be released only to the police.

The hospital said the autopsy would not be disclosed to the public.

The postmortem examination was to discover what killed the Ekwueme crooner.

Osinachi’s death has been allegedly linked to brutalisation by her husband.

Following her death, Osinachi’s family demanded that an autopsy be carried out to ascertain the cause of her death.

As at the time of filing this report, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, on Monday, said the case was no longer with the police.

She said, “The case is no longer with us. It is now with the DPP in the office of the Attorney General.”
