Ogun Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) and  Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS)  have reportedly  demanded that  the BBNaija winner, Olamilekan Laycon Agbeleshe pays tax on emerging the winner, and smiling home with hefty sum of  N85million as the grand prize of the season 5 reality TV show.

Recall that Laycon was announced the winner of the show on Sunday and expected to be awarded N85 million worth of prize. A day after Laycon was named winner, the agency responsible for tax in Lagos (LIRS) got in touch with the reality star.

LIRS  which congratulated Laycon for winning the TV show, said that they look forward to him paying his tax as well. Barely 24 hours after, the  OGIRS also congratulated the Ogun-born reality TV star saying that they are also looking  forward to him paying his tax.

Laycon while in the Big Brother house revealed he was from Abeokuta, Ogun State capital. After he was announced the winner on Sunday, he would be handed over his prize as winner of the BBN season 5 on Wednesday.

It will be recalled that the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, congratulated the winner of the 2020 Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Olamilekan Agbeleshe yesterday.

In a statement on Monday, Gov Abiodun said he was delighted to congratulate Laycon. In his words: “I am delighted to congratulate one of our own in Ogun State, Olamilekan Agbelesebioba, AKA @itslaycon for emerging winner of Big Brother Naija Lockdown.

“The pacesetter that you are, you have emerged one of the best in academic and social engagements, so this victory is aptly a confirmation of your brilliance, intellect and maturity.

“Our Administration will continue to support and empower the youth via numerous channels, towards inclusion, job creation, and the utility of our natural youthful energy.

“Youths of Ogun State, Nigeria, Africa and in fact the world over, see you as the face of positive revolution in the history of African entertainment.”
