Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025.

The New Diplomat reports that the inauguration ceremony was held inside the US Capitol Rotunda due to cold weather. The event marks his return to the presidency for a non-consecutive second term.

Chief Justice John Roberts administered the oath of office to Trump, who took the oath just before noon Eastern Time.

Notable attendees included former US presidents, vice presidents, and members of Congress. Trump’s family, including his children, were also present.

Trump, during his inaugural address, promised a “shock-and-awe blitz” of executive orders and actions to change the course of the country immediately after his swearing-in.
