The entire nation was almost thrown into frenzy as the Adamawa state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Professor Hudu Yunus Ari forcefully declared the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Governorship candidate, Aisha Dahiru Binani Winner of the election midway into the collation of the supplementary election results.

The New Diplomat gathered that the INEC State REC reported to the collation centre sandwiched between some unidentified top ranking security officers earlier than normal to declare Aisha Binani Winner.

PDP supporters who were present attempted to protest by pulling the REC, Prof. Ari on his flowing native attire but the officers on guard, protected him.

But in a very mysterious circumstance, the Professor ran out of luck as some “unknown men” chanced upon him, stripped the REC almost naked and gave him the beating of his life.

In the video that has since gone viral, the REC was shown with blood oozing out of his mouth, being injuries sustained from the manhandling by the “unknown patriotic Nigerians” who vented their anger on him.

The action of the “unknown men” has elicited reactions in different social media platforms as Nigerians cheer.

Here are excerpts as recorded by The New Diplomat

Boski Nwagu;

I wish the Nigerian judiciary is active. I don’t like this pattern.

Kevin Orji

The shame of a country. Given INEC’s disdain for the rules, I’m not surprised that the REC usurped the function of the Returning Officer to make his infamous declaration.

Ojukwu Kalu (Comedian)

How I wish it was Mr. Yakubu.

Markzinnia Ogbuabia

He! He! He! 9ja my country.

Aniebo Nwanu:

Before Adamawa there was Enugu. LP’S Edeoga was leading by a wide margin after collation of results in all but one LGA. Then PDP’s margin happened, Nkanu East LGA where only 7,345 had been accredited miraculously yielded 31,800+ votes for the PDP candidate! Billions of Naira changed hands in Abuja and the figure was cut down to 16, 900+ without any reason. The Returning Officer, Professor Iwe returned to Enugu to announce the fictitious results, stating however that he was doing the wrong thing but obeying a superior authority.
They wanted the certificate of return for Mba badly. They’ve got it. But LP has gone to the Tribunal with watertight evidence. Once more the Enugu PDP is shivering.
INEC is the epitome of monumental corruption.

Daniel Agbaro

Prof Yakubu will be the next victim. Nigerians are patiently waiting for the expiration of his tenure.
