Yusuf Buba Yakub, chairman, House Committee on Foreign Affairs, has called on the Jamaican Parliament to partner with its Nigerian counterpart to explore the inherent potential in the culture and tourism industry.
Yakub who led a delegation team to Jamaica to meet with the country’s parliament called for a closer collaboration between Nigeria’s National Assembly and the Jamaican Parliament adding that Nigeria has a lot to learn from Jamaica.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Jamaican House of Representatives, Marisa Darymple, assured the delegation that the country is committed to having strong ties with Nigeria.
He noted that there is a lot both countries can achieve working together.
On the Nigerian delegation are the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, Hon. Wale Raji, Hon.Princess Miriam Onuoha as well as Hon.Wole Oke.
Others include the Director, Consular and Legal Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Amb.Akinremi Bolaji;Amb.( Dr.) Maureen Tamuno,Nigeria High Commissioner to Jamaica and Alh. Mohammed Ali Turkwa,Clerk to the Committee.
