As the Chief Electoral Umpire, Professor Mahmood Yakubu is yet to blow the final whistle, presidential candidates of the big three political parties, in a hot race, stormed the South East to breast the tape before the campaign deadline.

The campaign train of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which was led by the leader of the Party, President Mohammed Buhari also have Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Governor Dave Umahi of Ebony State, the host Governor, Hope Uzodima and the party’s national Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu who were all decked in the traditional regalia of the indigenous people of Imo.

The APC mega rally which held at the Dan Anyim national studium in Owerri, paraded party bigwigs including traditional rulers in the state.

For the second time in less than two weeks, President Buhari declared before the mammoth crowd that he is one hundred percent behind the candidature of Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate.

The APC presidential candidate who promised to turn Imo state into another industrial hub in the region, said his government would tackle the widespread insecurity in Nigeria as well as ensure that the education system is overhaul for the advancement of the Nigerian youths.

” His words: “Four years programme in Nigerian Universities would be four years as academic programmes would not be scuttled by incessant lecturers’ strike.”

The Labour Party, LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi moved his campaign train to Nnewi, Anambra State where he assured the traders and the residents of adequate provision of infrastructure that would aid their trade.

Again, the LP presidential candidate reiterated his resolve to turn the Nigerian economy from a consuming one to producing economy.

The PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was dressed in Igbo attires with his campaign team members in Enugu, assured the people that youths and women would play prominent role in his administration upon assumption of office as Nigeria’s President.

While canvassing for votes for all PDP aspirants, urged the people not to relent on their oasis in their efforts to enthrone good governance.

However, available permutations showed that South East votes were divided among the top three political parties under review.
