The Inspector General of Police, Mr Baba Alkali has been mandated to make public, the report of his current investigations into the invasion of the residence of the Justice of the Supreme Court, Mary Odili.

The resolution of the Senate on Tuesday followed a point of order raised by Senator Betty Apiafi, at the resumption of plenary.

The invasion was condemned and described as a breach of Justice Odili’s privacy.

House of Representatives Committee on Judiciary had earlier called for urgent discreet investigation into the siege laid to the residence of Justice Mary Peter-Odili.

The Committee said the investigation will help to unmask the perpetrators believed to be security operatives.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Onofiok Luke in a statement condemned the siege, saying it was an action capable of setting the Executive and Judicial arms of government on a war path.

The siege was a repudiation of judicial independence and an assault on the sanctity of the nation’s judiciary, he said.
