Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and former Kano State Governor, has categorically denied reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu urged him to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement posted on his verified X handle, Kwankwaso labelled the claims as “false and unfounded,” urging the public to disregard unverified statements.

The controversy stemmed from a viral report claiming Kwankwaso had met with Tinubu multiple times and was under pressure to return to the APC.

The report further suggested that Kwankwaso stated he would rather quit politics than rejoin the ruling party.

However, in a swift attempt, Kwankwaso debunked these allegations, calling them “politically motivated” and part of a scheme to mislead the public.

He stated: “My attention has been drawn to a statement purportedly stating my position on the recurring political realignments. I wish to categorically state that such statements are false, unfounded, and products of political mischief.

I have refrained from commenting on contemporary political events, and I will continue to do so for the time being.

I urge the public to only engage statements that come from my public handles and other official Sources.”
