President Muhammadu Buhari is set to announce a replacement for the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Kpotun Idris.

Mr Idris, who ought to have retired from active service on January 3, will be replaced by a new police boss in the person of Abubakar Adamu Mohammed.

The retiring Police IG who reportedly met with President Buhari on Monday evening, is said to have started moving his things from the official quarters of the IGP ahead of the official announcement of his replacement.

The in coming Police boss was born on November 9, 1961 and is from Nasarawa state.

Mohammed, who is of the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in 1986.

He was a former police commissioner in Enugu and had served as the AIG in charge Zone 5.
