The Redeem Christian Church of God pastor, Sunday Adeniran, alongside two other persons abducted by some unidentified armed men in Calabar have regained their freedom on Monday.

The pastor alongside the two other persons were abducted from their residence at 8 miles, Ikot Eneobong Community, Hilltop Estate, on the outskirts of Calabar metropolis in the early hours of Saturday.

The abductors were said to have broke into the pastor’s residence and led him away to an unknown location.

Following the abduction, the Cross River state police command deployed the Anti Kidnapping and Cultism Squad (AKCS), in trail of the abductors.

The deployment led to the freedom of the pastor and the two other abducted persons, the Cross River Police Public Relations Officer, (DSP) Irene Ugbo told journalists. She also lauded the timely intervention of the AKCS.

“It was a strict direct order of the Commissioner of police, CP  Aminu Alhassan to men of AKCS and they acted swiftly to secure the release of the victims.

“I want to commend, the swift action of SP Awodi and his Dragon squad ,their efforts yielded result and in time to the victim are now in safe hands.

“I want to appeal to the public not to wait until something happens before they report ,they should always report strange movement to curb this kind of ugly incident,” she said.
