Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Musa Amadu have declared interest to join the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) presidential race scheduled to hold on September 30 2022 in Benin City, Edo State.

Gusau, who is the Chairman of Chairmen of Nigerian Football Association, has said the move is to take the league to greater heights, adding that he is ready and willing to do so.

He added that if elected NFF president, international footballers at all levels will be selected based on merit, adding that he will give attention to the discovery of more talents across the country.

“The basis of football is about grassroots development. I have a robust plan to develop it and we will take it from there, then we will see how we are going to make our league competitive and to be among the best in Africa, if not the world.”

“We will see how we are going to implement the plan step by step as being said by the president for us to achieve our objectives and we will do our best in conjunction with other stakeholders to make sure that we implement it for the benefit of Nigerian football,” he added.

In the same vein, Musa Amadu a former General Secretary of NFF, has promised to unify Nigerian football and put in the right conditions if elected as the president.

In his words: “The new NFF under my watch will be encompassing and purpose-driven. I will constitute an Elders Committee that will comprise of past NFF presidents and general secretaries and prominent football personalities to advise my executive members.’

“I will focus on resuscitation of female teams whose fortunes have plummeted in recent years. The youths and our leagues will also get priority attention under my leadership. The Super Eagles which is our biggest brand will be heavily backed to win laurels for the nation,” Amadu stated.
