Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has boasted about the well-equipped government House Clinic, stating that he doesn’t need to travel abroad for medical check-up or to receive treatment.

Wike stated this on Wednesday, while hosting a delegation of the Medical and Dental Clinic of Nigeria(MDCN), at the government house, Port Harcourt.

According to him, the state’s government clinic is a top class health facility, adding that everything he needs to undergo any test is there.

Recall that recently, Wike commissioned the River State Government House Clinic, a project which has been described as a quality project by many. The Clinic is fully equipped with state-of-the-art operating theatre, top anaesthesia ventilator, ICU Room, Endoscopy Suite, MRI Machines, Laboratory, Pharmacy and 24 hours ambulance service would serve elder statesmen, Government House personnel, judges and legislators.

Wike’s statement is also coming after President Muhammadu Buhari had travelled to the United Kingdom for a routine medical check-up.

Addressing MCDN, Wike also urged them not to politicise approved quota for Medical and Dental Schools in Nigeria.

In his words: “It is unfortunate where we are. I don’t want to comment on people who are traveling for medical check. I have not travelled for the past two years. If we have all these things here why do we have to travel? We have all it takes to provide it. Why will I go out to do my check (overseas) when I have all the facilities in Government House? I don’t need it. Everything that is required for me to undergo any test is here. The resources we have it. Why can’t we provide it for our people?”
