For any discerning mind, it has become obvious that the G-5 Governors’ political structure has fallen apart. Those abreast with the chronological sequence of their story, would easily attest that things are no longer at ease in the G-5 Governors’ house of commotion.

Though at the beginning of their perennial quest for justice, they seemed to have worn the sympathy of Nigerians as the Chief character of the hatchet plot, the Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike presented a good case before the Peoples’ Parliament.

Their grouse was the lopsided composition of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP hierarchy and a case of breach of trust. For them, why would the party’s presidential candidate and national chairman emerged from the same region. It would be a futile mission diving into the thematic exploration of their story as it’s already domiciled in the public space.

However, conflicting reports emanating from their last trip to the United kingdom, showed that the cookies have indeed crumbled. Barely ten hours after their reported departure to finally decide on who, aside from the PDP presidential candidates they would support at the general elections, the news broke that the G-4 Governors also known as the integrity group has endorsed the APC presidential candidate in the UK, With Benue state Governor, Samuel Ortom, opted to pledged his support for the LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

On hearing the unconfirmed news, the PDP kicked that hell must let loose. The five leprous fingers of the PDP were threatened with sanction if the story of their anti party activity in the UK turned out to be true. Ironically, potfolio politicians became lawyers overnight as they recited, like kindergartens, various sections of the party’s constitution to justify appropriate sanctions against the so called integrity men.

Wike raors, ” if anybody dare impose sanction against them in the PDP. The person that will sanction me in the PDP doesn’t exist.” Striking the same cord, former PDP BOT chairman, Olabode George sparks, “PDP cannot go far without the G-5 Governors,”
But all these, settled the expectations of perspective observers.

The rumour that the Enugu state Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi kept his preferred presidential candidate to his chest for fear of being ostracized by his Igbo kinsmen, however, his true position came to light when he played host to the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu after an extraneous campaign in the coal city during the week.
It’s becoming obvious that Wike is gradually losing ground as most of his loyalists have come to the realization that their principal had nothing to lose after the political debacle. Ditto for the Abia state Governor, Ikpeazu.

The Oyo state Governor, Seyin Makinde, his second term bid may be truncated if he fails to define his stand in the political space.

Today, political observers are of the opinion that the G-5 Governors are trapped in the middle of nowhere. No one person can truly place the five embattled Governors in the nation’s political space
