Governors elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have arrived in Abuja for a crucial meeting.

The New Diplomat gathered that the PDP Governors Forum which is led by the Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, may have resolved to meet to map out strategies for winning the governorship election in Edo State scheduled to hold towards the tail end of this year.

The New Diplomat gathered that Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba and his counterparts such as Mr Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, and Mr Godwin Obaseki of Edo, have arrived at the Oyo State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, venue of the reported meeting.

Also in attendance are said to be Mr Caleb Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, Deputy Governor of Enugu State, and Mr Monday John Onyeme, Deputy Governor of Delta State.

Though the reason for the meeting remains top secret, credible sources suggest that the governors would be discussing the upcoming Edo state governorship election and map out strategies for emerging victorious at the polls. Other issues to discuss it was learnt would focus on the current economic challenges and security situation in the country.
