A former Ekiti State Governor and one time minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi has publicly apologized to Nigerians for what he described as the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s inability to fulfil all its promises to the nation.

Fayemi, who spoke during an interview with Channels TV, acknowledged that the APC had not done enough to improve the quality of life for Nigerians despite coming into power with promises of change in 2015.

According to him, although APC meant well for Nigerians, the party’s performance was hindered by some structural impediments.

His apology comes amidst widespread economic and security challenges faced by Nigerians, which have become major points of contention and criticism against the APC-led federal government of President Bola Tinubu.

He stated: “Oh, clearly, we all have reasons…we must apologize to the Nigerian people. We have not succeeded in achieving everything we promised to the Nigerian people.

“And that’s not just because we were incompetent, but because there were other structural impediments that have made things more difficult for us.

“But we haven’t done enough to make life abundant for the Nigerian people, and for that, I clearly would not hesitate to apologize. We can do a lot more…”
