Winners have emerged in the 2024 oil licensing bid round in Nigeria.

Prominent companies that secured licenses include TotalEnergies, MRS Oil & Gas Company Limited, and First E&P, among others.

The New Diplomat reports that the oil licensing bid round was held at Eko Hotel, Lagos State.

In the competitive bid for PPL 269, Petroli Energy Marketing and Supply Limited triumphed over Afagaf Company Limited, securing the winning position.

Meanwhile, in the PPL 270 bid, Sahara Deepwater Resources Limited emerged victorious and successfully surpassed AMG Exploration and Production Limited to secure the licensing bid.

Sahara Deepwater also successfully secured the PPL 271 License, triumphing over its competitors, RBO Energy Services Limited and Kalm Marine Petroleum Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited.

In a closely contested race, Totalenergies achieved victory in the PPL 2000/2001 selection process, amassing an impressive total of 126 points. They narrowly outperformed Star Deepwater Petroleum Limited, which finished with a score of 125 points.

For PPLs 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006, BISWAL Oil and Gas, First E & P Development Company; Dewayles International Limited, Applefield Oil and Gas Limited and First E and P Development Company Limited, respectively, won the licences being the sole bidders in their respective categories.

Similarly, PPLs 2007, 2008, and 3007 went to R28 Holdings Limited, Tulcan Energy E & P Company Limited, and Oceangate Engineering Oil and Gas Limited.

While Broron Energy Limited and Star Deepwater Petroleum Resources Ltd competed for PPL 2009, with the former emerging as winner; PPLs 3011, 3012, 3015, 3016, and 3017, all had sole bidders – R28 Holdings, Tulcan Energy E &P Company Limited, Panout Oil and Gas, Hakilat Oil and Gas Consortium Ltd, and Applefield Oil and Gas respectively.
