President Muhammadu Buhari, alongside other members of his delegation to the global education submit and medical trip to London, UK, will go into isolation over COVID-19 concerns.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu made this disclosure.
According to Shehu, while speaking with The Guardian, the President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of State Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd) and Director General of National Intelligence Agency, Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, among other persons who returned to the country on Friday will go into isolation in line with the COVID-19 guidelines.
In his words, “President and all of those on his delegation will be isolated in line with NCDC guidelines for international travel.
“They all tested yesterday (Friday) and will follow up with another test in due course.”
This comes after the UK High Commissioner, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, who was seen in close contact with the President at the Airport in London and other members of the embassy staff, reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.
The New Diplomat had reported that the Nigerian High Commission in London has shut down mission over COVID-19 concerns.
Two officials at the embassy tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, prompting the commission to shut down in a bid to curtail the spread of the virus.
