Confusion has continued to trail the reported action of Instagram taking down the official page of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), from the video and photo-sharing platform.

The New Diplomat‘s check on the anti-graft agency’s page revealed that it has been deactivated, with inscription of “User not found,” showing no post.

It was reported that the page was deleted in the late hours of Friday, October 28.

The official page of the anti-graft agency had amassed over 653k followers before it was taken down by the Instagram authorities.

It is however unclear the reason the account was taken down as sundry comments have continued to trend.
