Suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has reacted to the President Muhammadu Buhari’s nationwide broadcast on Monday morning.

Jibrin, writing on his Twitter account, described it as speech “announcing a coup d’etat”.

He tweeted: “Fair for everyone to have ideas and expectations but I did not expect PMB to read a speech this morning like he is announcing a coup d’etat.”

It was the first time Buhari was addressing Nigerians, since he returned from the UK, where he had gone for medical treatment over 100 days ago.

In the brief address, he demanded sectional groups in the country calling for the nation’s restructuring to channel their demands to the national assembly as it is a matter that must be deliberated upon by lawmakers for a resolution to be passed.

The President also spoke on his administration’s plan to put an end to Boko Haram insurgency in the north east, sectional agitations among other issues.
