Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed sadness over the death of one of his cabinet members, Mr. Ahmad Aliyu Jalam, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
According to reports, Jalam tragically died in a car accident on the Misau-Darazo highway on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 2, the governor, while extending his condolences to Jalam’s family and the entire state, described the late Commissioner as a dedicated public servant, who tirelessly worked for the development and well-being of his local communities.
“During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving good governance and community relations.
“Late Ahmad Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served. His service will be remembered and cherished by all.
“His demise is deeply felt by all, including the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime,” he said.
The governor added that Jalam, who is survived by his wives and children, will be laid to rest on Sunday, June 2, in his hometown in Dambam local government area, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
