The remains of Dr Rabe Nasir, the Katsina State’s Commissioner for Science and Technology has been laid to rest in Kastina.

Rabe Nasir, was assassinated in his residence located at Fatima Shema Housing Estate in the Katsina metropolis.

The Katsina Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, said the deceased was assassinated on Wednesday night in his room and his dead body was discovered on Thursday.

CP Buba further explained that an investigation has since commenced, and one person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and the federal government delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Maj Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd), were among the dignitaries who were in  attendance during the funeral prayer held for late Commissioner.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali baba, DG DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, DG NIA, Amb. Ahmed Rufa’I Abubakar and CDI, Major Gen. Samuel Adebayo, were also in attendance.

The State Governor Aminu Bello who had rushed to the deceased residence on Thursday told the police to dig deeper and find the perpetrators.

Late Dr Nasir graduated from the University of Abuja, University of Kansas Lawrence, Bayero University Kano, and Government Secondary School Giwa, Kaduna State.
