Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has travelled out of Nigeria to kick off his Europe tour in Zurich, Switzerland.

The singer in a post on his Instagram confirmed the tour and shared a picture of himself on the plane with the caption, “Euro tour kicks off tonight in Zurich.”

This latest development came after the singer was released on bail on Tuesday night, following his detention for allegedly assaulting a police officer on third mainland bridge.

It would be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, had ordered the immediate arrest of Mr. Kuti after a video of the musician seemingly assaulting a police officer went viral.

In the video, Seun could be seen hitting the officer who was standing in the middle of a busy road.

Angered by the untoward attitude of the musician, the IGP ordered a speedy and full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the assault and prosecution of the suspect accordingly.
