The immediate-past Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege recently reconnected with his old classmates at the reunion of the class of ’79 from St. George’s Grammar School, now known as St. George’s College, Obinomba, Ukwuani, Delta State.

The former two-term federal lawmaker and Delta State All Progressives Congress(APC) governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship elections in a terse statement, revealed that the reunion was an opportunity for him to reminisce about their school days from 1974 to 1979 and to inspect the projects he facilitated to the school.

Omo-Agege added that the reunion was a memorable event, celebrating both past connections and the contributions made to both the building and rebuilding institution.

The New Diplomat reports that
Omo-Agege represented Delta Central Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was elected as Deputy Senate President in 2019, defeating Ike Ekweremadu with 68 votes against 37.

Before his senatorial role, he held various positions in Delta State State. At different times, he served in various capacities, including as a Commissioner for Special Duties as well as Secretary to the Delta State Government(SSG) under the administration of Chief James Ibori.

In 2023, Omo-Agege contested for the governorship seat of Delta State under the platform of the APC and lost to incumbent Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State
