Agency Report– Congratulatory messages are pouring in Saturday from around the world after major news organizations called the US presidential election for Democratic nominee Joseph R. Biden.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson hailed the US as its “most important ally” and said he is looking “forward to working closely together on our shared priorities, from climate change to trade and security.”

French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted “Congratulations @Joe Biden and @KamalaHarris! We have a lot to do to overcome today’s challenges. Let’s work together!”
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he is “really looking forward to working together and building” on the historic US-Canadian relationship.
“Our two countries are close friends, partners, and allies,” Mr. Trudeau tweeted. “We share a relationship that’s unique on the world stage.”
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, meanwhile, greeted the news in a televised speech by complaining about “economic terrorism” from the outgoing Trump administration.
“Our country’s decision has always been clear and our nation will continue its resistance and patience under any circumstances until the other side bows down to law,” Rouhani said, before expressing his hope for a less antagonistic relationship with an incoming Biden administration.

“We hope that the experience of these three years has been a lesson to them that will make the next US administration follow the law and return to all its commitments.”
