Google, an American Multinational Technology Company has backed the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria, adding its voice to the call against police brutality in the country.
The call comes as the nationwide End SARS protest which has continued to attract global attention enters day nine, Thursday.
Protesters keep pouring to the streets despite the disbandment of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) by the Nigerian government as they kick against the newly formed Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) replacing the abolished FSARS. Instead, the youths are calling for a complete overhaul of the Force amid a cacophony of dissenting voices around the country.

In a tweet @googleafrica, Thursday, Google, the most used internet search engine in the world, expressed its concerns with the ongoing protest in Nigeria, stating that it is against citizen’s “oppression, brutality and intimidation.”
The company also noted that abuse of power is anti-democracy and that only a speedy response and resolution on all the contentious issues bordering on reforming the Nigeria Police Force would rescue the country from the current situation.
