Boxing buffs have gone on hyperdrive in the social media, calling for a match between Tyson Fury, the WBC champion and Anthony Joshua, the IBF, WBA and WBO champion.

“GIVE US TYSON FURY VS ANTHONY JOSHUA!”, tweeted SportsBible on Sunday.

The call for what is being touted as the ‘fight of the decade’ is catching fire.

Boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn even caught the bug when he tweeted: “No need for a third let’s go straight to it in the Summer! #undisputed”. But he was quickly reminded that he already has Joshua lined up for a fight against Bulgarian Kubrat Venkov Pulev on 20 June.

There were also some reservations that Hearn will not allow Joshua to meet Tyson Fury right now, in Fury’s present ‘killer form’.

British fighter Fury knocked out American Deontay Wilder in the 7th round on Saturday night at the MGM in Las Vegas, in a rematch of their tied fight in December 2018.

A Tyson Fury-Joshua match will for now be a project for the future, as Wilder is reported to have the right to exercise, within a month, a rematch clause against the Briton.

Here are some of the tweets on a future Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua fight, with some however believing that Fury would destroy Joshua, whenever they meet.
