The Abuja Bureau Chief of The New Diplomat Multimedia Limited–a global newspaper, Augustine Osayande has bagged a Doctoral Degree in Environmental Resource Planning.
Dr. Osayande’s doctoral degree awarded by the Department of Geography and Environmental Management, University of Abuja, follows several academic works published by him to advance the course of environmental planning and climate action.
Over the years, his research had focused on hazards geography, soil erosion, flooding; human dimensions of conservation, environmental interactions and climate change. His other research-niche areas include Land Information System (LIS), environmental justice and disappearances of indigenous vegetations.
After graduating from the University of Abuja in 2001, where he earned Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography, Osayande had a Master’s Degree also in Geography with specialization on Land Resource Analysis and Planning from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Although trained as an Environmentalist, Osayande, a Google scholar, started his journalism career with THISDAY newspaper in 2006 and later joined The New Diplomat newspaper in May of 2015. He has also freelance for Center for African Journalist (CAJ) based in South Africa.
Osayande who has five publications to his name, had his works published by the International Annals of Science MAYFEB Journal of Environmental Science and Open Access Library Journal. His two e-books were published by a German-based publisher, GRIN Verlag.
