  • Inaugurates Executive Members of Campaign Organization

By John Oghojafor

Gold fish has no hiding place, and so for months on end, the good people of Ughelli South Constituency had consistently pressured one of their sons, Olorogun Hon. Taleb Tebite to come forward and present himself as a worthy ambassador of the people to re-enact his good works in the hallowed chamber of the Delta State House of Assembly in 2019.

A few had asked: why Tebite again?  But the chorused answer and unanimous adoption is: he has been tested, he has been trusted, he has performed excellently to the satisfaction of all the people and they want him to get back there and offer quality representation to the people one more time.

Ordinarily, the idea of zoning had seemingly taken root in the area, but the dilemma which most people from Ughelli South had continued to live with over the years since he (Tebite) left the House of Assembly, had been the experience of mediocrity, poor representation, disregard for the constituents, lack of respect for leaders, pomposity, lack of empowerment for youths, women and elders, lack of infrastructure by way of constituency projects, among others.  Which is why the people have been agitating that enough is enough, and they have been putting pressure on Hon. Taleb Tebite to, one more time, come forward to do what he knows how best to do: provide quality representation for the people of Ughelli South in the Delta State House of Assembly.  And they are quite unequivocal about the clarion call.

Members of Talent Tebite Campaign Organization

And so today (28/05/18) the playground of the Etako Primary School in Okpare Olomu, was full to capacity with PDP supporters from across the length and breadth of Ughelli South who thronged the venue in their thousands to express solidarity and support for Hon. Taleb Tebite second coming to the Delta State House of Assembly project.

It was indeed a massive mobilization of the people who nostalgically reflect on those good days when Hon. Taleb Tebite represented the people in the House of Assembly.  A rally of sort, as leaders after leaders, politicians of note from Ewu, Arhavwarien, Ughievwen, Olomu axis of Ughelli South and beyond eulogized the sterling qualities of the multiple chief, Hon. Tebite as they became more emotional in their resolve to ensure nothing stops him from making it to the House of Assembly, come 2019.

Great political leaders from Ughelli South in the likes of Chief Patrick Okitiakpe (who was the chairman of the occasion), Chief Adason, former Executive chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Chief Oviri Uto, Samuel Oboramrohwoeyeren (aka Sam de Tailor), Chief Eshenake, Olorogun Dr. E.A. Sajini, Chief Ewhenede, Hon. Nelson Gbakegi, Kpogbodu,   among other political heavyweights from the area were present to express their support for the Taleb Tebite for House of Assembly 2019 project.

In his acceptance speech, Olorogun Tebite said “With the power conferred on me by Almighty God, I hereby accept to run for the Delta State House of Assembly for Ughelli South come 2019.”  He urged the people of Ughelli South to support massively the governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, whom he described as a great giver, adding that when he (Okowa gives) he  (Taleb) will in turn give to the people of Ughelli South.

In his remarks shortly after Hon. Tebite’s acceptance speech, Olorogun Sajini said that “On behalf of the good people of Ughievwen axis of Ughelli South Local Government Area, we are indeed very grateful to Hon. Taleb Tebite because all this while, we have been doing consultation and calling on him to come and run the House of Assembly for the good works he has done before.  We are grateful today that he has accepted our request..”, just as he called on the people of Ughelli South to support Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second tenure in 2019.

Also, Chief John Ubogu in his remarks said that as a political leader from Olomu axis said that the people of the area have already endorsed Hon. Taleb Tebite for the House of Assembly 2019.

Highpoint of the occasion was the inauguration of the Taleb Tebite Campaign Organization which has Chief Obevoara as the chairman.

Supporters of Olorogun Taleb Tebite from Ughelli North include Chief Major Egone, Chief Asore, Olorogun Barr. Fred Majemite, among others.
