Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was defeated by YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a unanimous decision.

The eight-round boxing match, which was held at the AT&T Stadium in Texas, United States, concluded with a decisive victory for the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

The judges scored the match 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73, all in favour of Paul.

Following the blast of the bell in the opening round, the 27-year-old Paul capitalized on his youthful energy and agility to effectively close the distance against the seasoned 58-year-old Tyson.

The second round followed a similar vein, Paul doing his best to avoid Tyson’s famously heavy blows before clinching again.

Round three commenced with heightened intensity, as Tyson aggressively initiated the exchange, only to be countered by a series of left hooks from Paul.

Demonstrating increased confidence, the YouTuber continued to deliver significant strikes to a stationary Tyson, who appeared relieved when the bell signalled the end of the round.

The match continued to the eighth round, but there was little of the famous power left in any of Tyson’s punches, and the pair embraced as the bell rang.

The New Diplomat reports that the 58-year-old won 50 of his 58 bouts as a pro and was the undisputed world heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990.
