The THISDAY Alumni Association has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Prince Nduka Obaigbena, the Chairman of THISDAY/Arise Media Group, for his remarkable achievement of winning the prestigious Diamond Award for Media Excellence, (DAME) Life Achievement Award.

In a press release issued by Dr. Tony Onyima, President of the association, and Juliana Taiwo-Obalonye, its Secretary, it stressed that the recognition bestowed upon Obaigbena serves as a testament to his remarkable achievements and significant impact in the Nigerian media landscape.

”Your visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, relentless innovation and courage have been instrumental in shaping the landscape of journalism in our country. Your commitment to excellence, integrity, professionalism and free enterprise has served as an inspiration to many budding journalists and professionals both within and outside THISDAY/Arise Media Group,”  the association stated.

According to the association, being part of THISDAY has been a source of pride for the association, as it has provided it with valuable wisdom and guidance throughout their journalism career.

The association further maintained that is believed that Obaigbena will undoubtedly make a lasting impact in the media industry and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations of journalists.

It would be recalled that Obaigbena was bestowed with both the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) in October 2022 and the highest journalistic honour of Fellowship of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (FNGE).

Meanwhile, The DAME award initiative established in 1991 is to promote professionalism in the media.
