Few days after the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa reportedly bought ₦3 billion palatial mansion in choice area, Sugarland, Houston Texas in the United States of America (USA), fresh facts have emerged over his last minute dirty deals with just two months to the expiration of his tenancy at the government House as he allegedly sold the Delta State liaison office complex to one of his kinsmen, a reputed government Adviser,(names withheld) at a paltry sum of ₦550million.
The property which is located at the Victoria Island, Lagos was reportedly valued at over ₦5billion due mainly to its strategic location and size at the time of its disposal.
The New Diplomat investigations revealed that the underhand dealing which was shrouded in secrecy was perfected by an obscured property firm known as Fulham Developers.
The Governor who has allegedly finalise arrangements to relocate his family to the ₦3 Billion palatial mansion in the US where he would have some Oil big boys as neighbours, is reported to be amassing wealth for his retirement.
The New Diplomat reliably gathered that the exiting Governor now use the state properties to placate his kinsmen and friends who are dissatisfied with his uncharitable disposition since he assumed office as Governor.
The stupendous wealth allegedly amassed by Governor Okowa, has reportedly attracted the attention of the office of Attorney General of the federation and Justice Minister as well as the Anti-Graft Agencies that have already beamed their searchlight on the Delta State Governor.
The bodies are said to be currently looking into the subject matter relating to how a serving Governor raised ₦3 billion to purchase the said Property in a choice area in Sugarland, Houston Texas.
Meanwhile, all the officers at the liaison office have been evacuated to a rented apartment within the Island.
Some of the affected officers who expressed disgust over the unpleasant experience, opted to keep sealed lips in order to keep their jobs.
However, attempts to reach Governor Okowa for his side of the story proved abortive as he declined phone call put across to him.
