Ogun State Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Mr Biyi Otegbeye, has said that local communities in the state will become economically viable if elected into office.

The ADC flagbearer identified good rural roads as major boosters for economic activities at the communal levels.

Addressing a mammoth crowd at Ijoun during the ongoing campaign tour of the ADC to Yewa North Local Government recently, Otegbeye identified good inter-city roads as an enabler of economic growth; especially at the local Government levels.

In his words, “Our team considers it important that one of the ways we can drive local enterprise and attract investments to our state is to ensure that our roads, especially the ones that link up communities, are in good shaper”.

“Livable communities and Creation of new towns is the third agenda in our pathway to prosperity manifesto. It has a rural development plan and the idea is to link the communities and new towns with good roads; which will in turn improve the quality of life and standard of living of the dwellers as they can stay in their environment to do business, commute elsewhere easily and even attract investors”.

Otegbeye, fondly called BOT, berated the Dapo Abiodun administration for neglect of rural roads, especially in the area. He cited the Ilara-Eggua-Oja-Odan-Ilase road that was started by the immediate past administration of Sen. Ibikunle Amosun and has been criminally abandoned since the current administration came on board.

He said, “Abiodun does not have any regard for the good people of this area. This is one road that would have changed the face of Ogun West and enhanced the economic growth and development of the people had he bothered to complete it”.

Otegbeye assured that priority will be given to such roads by the incoming administration under his watch.
