Her Royal Majesty, the Queen of Britain, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at 96.

She died at Balmoral, Scotland, Thursday afternoon.

Born on 21st April, 1926, Queen Elizabeth ascended the throne in 1952.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has ruled far longer than any other Monarch in British history, spending over 70 years on the throne.

Queen Elizabeth’s death comes over a year after her husband, Prince Philip died on 9 April 2021, The New Diplomat reports.

Buckingham Palace has issued a statement confirming her death.

Also, the Queen’s departure was confirmed by The Royal Family’s verified Twitter handle.

“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow,” a terse tweet read.

In her 70-year reign Queen Elizabeth witnessed the appointment of 15 Prime Ministers, starting with Winston Churchill to Liz Truss, who was appointed only Tuesday.
