Almost two weeks after clinching the All-Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for the 2023 general elections, Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos.

The former Lagos State governor arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala International Airport at 15:30pm on Sunday. Tinubu was received to a rousing welcome from hundreds of party supporters and is now on the way to the Palace of the Oba of Lagos.

He arrived in the company of the governors of Kano and Imo states, Abdullahi Ganduje and Hope Uzodimma.

A former governor of Borno State, Ahmed Shettima, as well as some party leaders at the national level were also with him.

It would be recalled that Tinubu had clinched the APC’s presidential ticket after polling 1271 votes at the Special Convention and Presidential Primary held at the Eagles Square, Abuja on June 8, 2022.

He defeated Rotimi Amaechi, former Transportation Minister who polled 316 votes and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo who scored 235 votes.

Shortly after clinching the ticket, Tinubu had embarked on fence-mending moves by visiting the defeated aspirants which delayed his return to Lagos.

He was also in Ekiti State to drum up support for the newly elected Governor of the party, Biodun Oyebanji.
