Suspended police commissioner, Abba Kyari, and Obi Cubana were sighted at the wedding Fatiha of Maina Alkali, son of the inspector-general of police Usman Baba on Saturday, January 29 2022.
The solemnization took place at the palace of Shehu of Borno Abubakar El-Kanemi in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Also at the wedding were the immediate past commissioner of police in Lagos State, assistant inspector general (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu and socialite Obi Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana.
Others present were Senate President Ahmad Lawan; former governor of Borno, Kashim Shettima; minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika; president of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; and managing director/CEO of Tiamin Rice, Aminu Ahmed.
Governors present include Babagana Zulum of Borno and his Yobe and Jigawa counterparts, Mai Mala Buni and Badaru Abubakar respectively.
Kyari has not been seen in public functions since he was suspended last year over alleged links to cyber criminal Ramon Abbas aka Hushpuppi.
Kyari posted over 400 pictures from the event on Facebook. He has had some activity earlier in the year on the social media platform, but none made headlines.
The former head of the Intelligence Response Team was suspended in July 2021 for alleged involvement in a $1.1 million internet fraud allegedly perpetrated by Hushpuppi and four others; AbdulRahman Juma (Abdul); Vincent Chibuzo (Kelly); Rukayat Fashola (Morayo); and Bolatito Agbabiaka (Bolamide).
United States authorities say Hushpuppi paid $20,600 to two bank accounts allegedly provided by Kyari on January 20, 2020, an allegation which the suspended police boss has denied.
