Suspected armed bandits have reportedly shot dead security operatives, including a policeman in a fresh attack in Zamfara State, while abducting scores of students and teachers in the State.

It was learnt that the Bandits broke into the Zamfara College of Agriculture in Bakura Local Government Area (LGA) of the state on Sunday night and abducted 15 students, a teacher and his wife.

Confirming the incident Aliyu Bakura, Deputy Registrar of the college told BBC Hausa that four persons, including a police officer and three gatemen, were killed in the attack.

“Last Sunday night around 10pm they entered and opened fire and took away 15 students and a teacher and his wife and two children,” he added.

Also, Senator Shehu Sani who represented the Kaduna Central during the 8th National Assembly on his official twitter handle said: “We woke up with a tragic news of mass abductions of students and staff at the college of Agriculture Bakura, Zamfara State yesternight.”
