Mr Aloy Ejimakor, lead council to the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has said that there will be no trial for his principal.

According to him, no court would proceed on his trial following the manner Kanu was repatriated to Nigeria.

The separatist was rearrested by the Federal Government of Nigeria on June 29 after jumping bail since 2018.

According to the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, Kanu was arrested through the collaboration efforts of the intelligence services.

However, the family members of Kanu and IPOB had alleged that their brother was forcefully arrested in the Republic of Kenya.

Kanu has since been remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) and currently facing charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony among others weighty allegations.

Meanwhile, Ejimakor has stated that Kanu cannot be tried by the court. According to him, it is those involved in the arrest of the separatist leader that should be placed on trial.

Ejimakor said those who forcefully arrested and repatriated the IPOB leader back to Nigeria would be tried.

The tweets reads, “Kanu’s trial is supposed to be OPPOSED, not monitored. Those of you wanting to monitor his trial or wishing him fair trial, thank you.

“But sorry to disappoint you: There won’t be any trial. Never. If any trial occurs, it’s those that renditioned him that will be on trial.”
