President Muhammadu Buhari and former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar met behind closed door at the Aso Villa, Abuja, Friday.

Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this on his Twitter page.

“President @MBuhari receives in audience former Head of State Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd.) at the State House, Abuja,” Ahmad tweeted.

In the short tweet, Bashir didn’t disclose details about the meeting, however, The New Diplomat‘s checks indicate that the meeting may not be unconnected with the state of security in the country.

It would be recalled that Abdulsalami is the Chairman of the National Peace Committee. The Committee has been involved in promoting peace across the country.
