Popular O’odua Activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has on Sunday rejected the GoFundMe account opened in his name, which was for the purpose of supporting his campaign against insecurity in the Southwest.

The GoFundMe account which was created on Wednesday, for the purpose of purchasing buses for the campaign of Igboho, by Maureen Badejo, has amassed £32,747 (N17million) by over 1000 donors.

Igboho, who was speaking in an interview with the Punch, said he doesn’t need anyone to donate to his cause.

In his words, “I don’t need such and there is nothing like that.”

Igboho further stated that he ready to meet the south west governors and discuss his view on how to handle the issue of herdsmen menace.

In his words: “obviously if they call me for a meeting to discuss the burning issue of security to end the impunity by the killer herders, I shall gladly oblige. I am ready for any genuine approach to stopping the herders’ madness against our parents, brothers and sisters in Yorubaland. Why should our people, harmless for that matter, be going through all the horrible experiences without getting justice? And everybody folds their arms, looking on as if nothing is wrong.”

The New Diplomat had reported that the supporters of Igboho, has on Wednesday opened a GoFundMe account to support his campaign against insecurity.

In a short note left by the mobilizer of the fund raising, he called for the support of the campaign against insecurity led by Igboho.

The note reads, “Let’s us rise up and support Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho, they need buses to move around to secure our ancestral land. Our security is threatened as we speak. It seems people in a position of authority are helpless.”

It would be recalled also that Igboho, 48, is a right activist. He has been in the news over the ultimatum he gave to the fulani herders to vacate Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
