Although, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo claimed no money exchanged hands for the freed Chibok girls yesterday, a report by Associated Press (AP) has insisted that some huge amount of money exchange was involved.

The report insisted that “Nigerian Government paid a “handsome ransom” in millions of dollars for the release of 21 Chibok girls. The ransom was allegedly paid by the Swiss government on behalf of Nigeria.

According to this report, Switzerland is expected to recoup the money from some $321 million stolen fund stashed in the country by late Head of State, General Sani Abacha.

In the report, the Swiss government, responding to AP inquiry on the ransom payment, allegedly said it had played “a neutral, humanitarian role in the operation”.
