Former Vice President and PDP Presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar has commended Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River State for being an embodiment of quality governance in the country. The Wazirin Adamawa made this remark Monday as he was hosted by the governor and his supporters in Cross River State capital, Calabar.

The presidential hopeful enumerated Ayade’s achievement to include, rapid industrialisation, agricultural revolution especially modern rice farming, and regular payment of salary despite lean resource allocated to the state.

He further commended the state for being faithful to PDP since 1999 and assured better financial support for the state growth when voted into power as President in 2019.

Supporters of Atikulated Agenda

Responding to the subject of restructuring, the former Customs Deputy Director, Atiku said, “I am going to work together with governors and leadership of the national assembly, fortunately it is something that all of them want but there is no part of this country that has not accepted restructuring. So it is going to be achieved.”

One of the groups drumming support for Atiku in Cross River State, Atikulation Agenda coordinated by Joy Orok had come out in their numbers to receive Atiku at the PDP State Secretariat along Highway, Calabar as early as 8am.

Speaking to The New Diplomat the Deputy Coordinator, Mrs. Justina Lifu said the group was pleased and assured to vote Atiku come 2019 presidential elections.

“We are a support group for Atiku 2019 and our slogan is ‘for better and prosperous nation!’ Atiku is the only man that is qualified to give us that nation, that economy we’ve been dreaming about. He is the only man that can fit into that shoe. And because he fits into that shoe every mature mind is Atikulated into one to make sure that Atiku comes into power in 2019. He is the only man one could bet on for now. There is nobody else, if there is, let the person come out! Atiku has a package that will turn our economy into industrial one that youths and women will be the deciding factors in this nation. Atiku is a man you can’t trace corruption to, he is the only man that shows Nigerians the need to work and invest in Nigeria not those who invest their money outside the country. We need a man whose mind is in Nigeria. Administratively, he has experience as Vice president and was the man who supported Obasanjo to have the leadership status he enjoys today, if not for his backing Obasanjo wouldn’t have achieved much. ”

The presidential contender and co-founder of Intels later left to commission a political campaign office within State Housing in Calabar. He is also believed to stay for a youth programme in Calabar that will feature the likes of Aliko Dangote, Gov. Ayade, Gov. Udom Emmanuel, Gov. Wike and Minister for Niger Delta at Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Calabar on Tuesday.
