The ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has outperformed all past Nigerian Presidents before him in tackling the economic challenges of the country.

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Felix Morka, stated this on Wednesday, stressing that Tinubu had done more than all the Presidents in Nigeria before him, in the direction of reordering our priorities.

The party spokesman also wondered why those in the opposition have not given informed prescriptions on how to tackle the myriad challenges confronting the country.

Morka maintained that despite deluge of criticisms being hurled against President Bola Tinubu, those in the opposition know he is on course, doing what is expected of a right thinking helmsman.

He stated this on Wednesday while fieldingn questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme.

According to him, Tinubu is focused on matters that “guarantee the long-term health of our nation”.

Morka said, “So all of the hue and cry by members of the opposition, whether it’s Rotimi Amaechi or former Vice President, or former Kaduna governor, Malam El-Rufai, you know, don’t begin to cut it.

“The President is focused on, you know, dealing with matters that guarantee the long-term, I think, you know, health of our country.

“Now you see, what is funny is that all of these voices put together don’t even begin to speak to what they think this President should be doing different from what he’s doing.

“Not one of them has come forward with any kind of, you know, informed prescription of what the President should be doing, because they know, you know, in their hearts, outside of just politicking, that the President is doing exactly what any right-thinking president would do.”

He stressed that Tinubu has reordered the nation’s priorities and tackled what he described as “acerbic challenges faced by the country’s economy”.

Morka added: “Now, this President, in two years, as I 4have maintained, has done more than, you know, all of the presidents before him in the direction of reordering our priorities, tackling some of the most acerbic challenges faced by the economy of our country.

“He has decided that, you know, it’s not about just looking for cheap popularity, but willing to do the tough things that may momentarily seem unpopular, but are decidedly crucial to the long-term good health of our country’s economy.”

Recall that those who have governed Nigeria as Presidents are late Second Republic President Shehu Shagari(1979-1983); Military President Ibrahim Babangida(1985-1993); President Olusegun Obasanjo(1999-2007); late President Umaru Yar’Adua(2007-2010); President Goodluck Jonathan(2010-2015); and President Muhammadu Buhari(2015-2023).
