The immediate past president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has recounted fond memories he shared with his former boss and predecessor, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died in the year 2010.

In a tribute published on his Facebook page on Thursday, Jonathan wrote: “Six years ago, I lost a dear friend and partner in democracy, peace and progress. President Umaru Musa Yar’adua was a servant leader and a stickler for the rule of law.

“He may be gone but he is never to be forgotten. I pray for his soul and for him to rest in al Jannah firdaus.”

Both Yar’Adua and Jonathan were voted into office in 2007. But owing to the health challenges faced by the former, the latter was made by the National Assembly to complete their tenure.
