An unsettling data by the World Bank shows that Nigeria, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and many others are among countries with the most population of people living under $5.5 per day.
This data sourced from the World Bank and shown on the Spectator Index record listed many countries, but about 16 cases seem acute and stunning. Experts believe that these statistics from the World Bank seem to buttress the true economic hardship confronting citizens of the countries listed, including Nigeria. However, from the data, Nigeria tops the list with a staggering share of 92.1% of Nigerians living under $5.5 dollar a day!
Indeed, the statistics on the official website of the World Bank show that about 92.1% of Nigerians can not afford to spend $5.5 per day. With $1 trading for about N1600, that means 92.1% of Nigerians can not afford to spend N8,800 per day.
Similarly, about half of the world’s population is living on less than $5.50 a day, according to the research by the World Bank.
Investigations of the financial institution revealed that out of about 46 percent of people worldwide, 3.4 billion people struggle to meet basic needs.
